Madison + Dan: Northern Indiana Elopement

Madison & Dan reached out to start planning their elopement in early 2020 without announcing a traditional, formal proposal. Once the pandemic shut down the world, the plan still remained the same: get married!

While location scouting for fields nearby, I came across the perfect spot in Napannee: a large, mature wood with winding footpaths. While it wasn’t a field as we initially imagined, the wood was a perfect setting for these two woodworkers to share their vows.

Their day finally arrived — cold & rainy — but they didn’t let the weather stop them.

Madison & Dan met me at the location, so no “first look” was necessary. “Getting ready” photos consisted of Dan sewing Madison’s button onto her dress, while she stayed warm in the truck. Their vows were handwritten, their unity ceremony was unique to who they are (they combined wood shavings rather than sand), and they personally knew the pastor who officiated the ceremony.

AND.. they were able to spend the day together, without worrying about anyone else. Just happy, wedded bliss and a relaxing evening, together.
